Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Executed in a local yellow sandstone, stated by Mr.D.Emlyn Evans, Asst.Keeper of Geology at the National Museum of Wales, to be calcareous with occasional quartz pebbles; it is Triassic and was probably derived from the Sudbrook district, where a similar rock occurs, within a few miles of Caerleon.
