3/4 Starboard Bow view of M.V. NORBRYN, 1948.
M.V. NORBRYN (5108gt). Built 1922 as DOMINION MILLER by William Doxford & Sons Ltd, Sunderland (Diesel engines by the builder) for Norfolk & North American Steamship Co., and managed by Furness Withy. 1924 - Ownership transferred to Furness Withy. 1925 - Renamed PACIFIC COMMERCE, owned and managed by Furness Withy. Ownership seems to have reverted back to Norfolk & North American from 1930 to 1935 however. 1936 - Sold to Brynmore Steamship Co. Ltd., Swansea, and managed by Ambrose, Davies & Newman of London without any change of name. 1937 - Sold to A/S Viking, Farsund, Norway, and renamed NORBRYN, managed by Lundergaard & Sonner. 1950 - Sold to Skibs A/S Lundegaard with no change of name or management. In June 1955 crashed head-on into a dock at Quebec, and became suspended when he tide turned. She was towed off on the net tide with a 6-inch hole in her bow. She was laid up for a year from 1957 and sold for scrap in 1958, arriving at Grimstad, Norway in January 1959 to be broken up. (Source: searlecanada.com / The SunderlandSite)
