Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
LINEN, embroidered with coloured silks in cross, eyelet and satin stitches. At the top in three rows are capital letters of the alphabet each letter in duplicate; a horizontal band of floral wavy stem, and numerals to 16. Beneath, in three rows, are capital letters of the alphabet followed by a horizontal band of detached floral and animal designs. At the bottom is the inscription: “Pray excuse my mean Endeavour. Ill strive to / mend and be obedient ever saith the daughter / of Iohn taylor by ann his wife was born on su / nday the 26 day of november at 5 oclock in th (sic) / morning 1769 Anno / Dom Sarah Taylor Aged 10 1779”
