Dress

Sally Slade (Manufacturer)

Ssundresses with matching sleeveless jacket top. Manucatured by Sally Slade, about 1958-60. Unsold stock from David Thomas tailor's shop, Cross Inn, New Quay.

Glazed cotton fabric with printed design of green trellis and large pink roses. Dress has five cm wide shoulder straps, tight fitting bodice trimmed with folded 'cuff' of self-fabric all around top. Self-fabric buckled belt at waist. Zip fastner at back and two hooks and eyes at top. Full mid-calf length skirt with two pockets with fold-over flaps. Matching jacket has armholes cut straight at shoulder, plain untrimmed front opening. Fastening at waistband with three plastic buttons and self-fabric loops. Fullness gathered into waistband at back.
