Figure group comprising Time or Chronos, grey bearded winged man, seated on a block of balustraded masonry holding on his knee a struggling Cupid, whose right wing he is about to cut with a pair of gilt metal shears. The lower part of Chronos's body is swathed in a gilt bordered white robe, painted with sprays of flowers in red, olive, purple and gold, Cupid naked except for a puce sash over the loins.
