Rugby cap made from black velvet (6 sections joined together); lined with cream cotton twill fabric consisting of circular section at crown (partly quilted) and 1 section around sides (cut on bias and pleated to fit round shape and joined with diagonal seam); maker's mark printed on inside of crown; metal braid along lower edge of cap and lower edge of peak; peak reinforced with card interlining; narrow braid covering seams of 6 velvet sections; domed wooden? shape at centre of crown covered in metal purl wire; metal purl tassle attached to this; silk thread embroidery and applique at centre front: yellow angel above orange shield shape; shield made from card covered with orange silk fabric (adhered?); shield is outlined with 2 widths of yellow silk cord; all metal components are silver-coloured.
