(7219gt) : Launched as CORNELIUS COLE but completed 1943 as SAMSURF by California Shipbuilding Corporation, Los Angeles (engine by Willamette Iron & Steel Corp., Portland, Oregon, managed for MoWT by Cunard White Star Line, Liverpool. 1948 - Renamed CORNELIUS COLE and returned to US Maritime Commission and laid up at Mobile, Alabama.
