Roman samian bowl, decorated
Good ware and slip. Panel decoration : Fragment (a) : (i) ? triple vertical panel as (iii) - upper and middle compartments mostly wanting, lower - dolphin r. (cf. K., 1919, Pl. 61, A) ; (ii) Silenius r. playing double flute (D. 310) ; (iii) = (i) triple vertical panel : upper compartment - hare r. (cf. K., 1919, Pl. 33, 1), middle - row of pointed leaves arranged as straight wreath, lower - dolphin, as (i) ; (iv) male figure l. ; (v) triple vertical panel as (iii), all panels mostly wanting. Two hole near one edge, that near rim filled with remains of lead rivet. Second fragment probably part of same bowl : a triple vertical panel as before, upper compartment - incomplete, dog r. (?D. 916 bis - MALCIO) chasing hare, middle (mostly wanting) - straight wreath as before, lower - wanting.
Dr 37 is a hemispherical decorated bowl
