S.S. EMPIRE MANDARIN (7078gt). Built 1944 by Shipbuilding Corporation Ltd., Newcastle-upon-Tyne for the Ministry of War Transport. 1947 - Sold to Dorset Steamship Co. Ltd., and renamed LULWORTH HILL (managed by Counties Ship Management Ltd.). She was renamed CASTLE HILL in 1949. 1950 - Sold to London & Overseas Freighters Ltd., and renamed LONDON BUILDER. 1950 - Sold later that year to Societa Armadora Insular SA, Panama, and renamed SILVER WAKE. 1954 - Sold to Eastern Seas Steamship Co. Ltd., and renamed NAVARINO. 1955 - Sold to Stanthorpe Steamship Co. Ltd., and renamed STANTHORPE (managed by J.A. Billmeir & Co.Ltd). 1961 - Sold to Mullion & Co. Ltd., Hong Kong and renamed ARDBRAE. She arrived on the 1st March 1966 at Onomichi, Japan, for breaking up.
