Bedgown

Bedgown, made from red and black check soft cotton fabric that has appearance of wool; short sleeves are trimmed with white, floral, machine-made, synthetic lace ruff; constructed from 3 pieces of fabric: one back panel and two separate front sections which are fastened along the centre front with three circular tabs of red Velcro®.

Check pattern is made from alternating sets of 3 black and 3 red yarns in both weave directions; the yarns are singles yarns, Z-spun.

Bedgown is machine stitched using black thread; interior seams at shoulders and sides are finished with overlocking; the lower hem has a 2cm wide turn-back; seam allowances at interface between cotton and lace fabric are unfinished; strip of lace is not seamed together at either end; lace is gathered into ends of sleeves with 6 small tucks which change direction half-way along the sleeve.
