Line impressed. Continuous design; eight-petelled flowers within circles, each within a square, each square within a grid. Chester: 11 Watergate Street, St JHohn's Church (Rutter 1990, 119/188); Rushen Abbey, Isle of Man (Jewitt 1885, no4); Haughmond Abbey (Lunt & Lisk forthcoming no. 167). c.f. 756 also 753 to 754, 761.
15th Century
Mid-greenish brown glaze on upper surface and side. Occasional white patches on upper surface, possibly slip. Thick mortar on one side and the base.
Unknown original tile shape. Previously identified as no. 753 but the size of the tile does not correspond.
