Badge 'Mines Not Missiles'. The Mines Not Missiles event was held at Aylesham Welfare in the Kent Coalfield (Snowdown Colliery Wefare Club and Institute) during the 1984-85 strike. Attendees included Ben Elton, Rick Mayal and Paul Foot. The event called for subsidy of coal mining industry rather than armaments (specifically nuclear weapons) production.
