A specialist knife used by boot and shoemakers for paring the edge of the sole. It has a shallow concave blade on a blade offset from its wooden handle. It cuts the edge by being pulled around the forepart of the sole. The outer part of the blade is thicker to avoid damage to the leather upper of the shoe or boot when being used on the edge of the sole.
