Rim fragment of a crucible. Probably of the shallow triangular form similar to those from Glastonbury Lake Village (Bulleid and Grey 1917, 300-309), Gussage All Saints (Wainwright 1979, 130-132) and Collfryn (Britnell 1989, 126-7) dating to the 1st and 2nd centuries BC. The rim is rounded, distorted and heavily vitrified with traces of copper alloy low down on the internal surface. Sherd joins with 26.239/5.
