Tudor pewter boatswains pipe

Decorated with nautical designs: squid-like marine creatures in openwork form the keel along the underside of the gun, and beading resembling mermaid's purses around the buoy. The gun is of hexagonal external cross section tapering towards the buoy and has two bands of triple ridging around its girth. Two groups of moulding around pipe, which is of hexagonal cross-section. The buoy has traces of a moulded design on both sides, possibly a fleur de lys or similar motif.
