Snuffer tray
Waisted oblong, with concave sides and `gothic' outline. Dark crimson japan. Decorated with a continuous band of scroll and cornflower design in silver. Additional borders with scroll and line ornament, with continuous band of stars to rim, all in silver. Plain crimson japan to exterior of sides with simple bands of silver. Black japan to underside of base. The application of a clear varnish has resulted in a golden tinged surface appearance. Extensive crazing to interior.
