Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Hat band worn by Gertrude Morgan (nee Davies) as a midwife at Morriston Hospital, about 1965.
Made from silk and cotton gross-grain, blue with a navy strip on each side, the ribbon is sewn together at the back with a rough hand stitch in black cotton thread. The front of the band has a small, blue square shaped badge machine embroidered with the logo for General Nursing Council England & Wales with a figure in the centre. It is machine sewn to the ribbon in blue thread.
