Red and white patterned keffiyeh. Worn by Dr Kumaran Pillay when attending pro-Palestine demonstrations, 2024.

Square scarf made of 100% Polyester. Tabby woven with red and white yarns creating a check pattern of red stripes which cross over along the edges. The white areas that are framed by the red stripes have been machine embroidered with zigzag stitches that form a stylised olive leave pattern along the sides and a fishing net pattern across the centre. Selvages along both side edges and top and bottom are finished with a double turn-back held in place by machine stitches using white thread.
