A Welsh Folk Museum Answer Book, 1959, completed by The Rev. D. Jacob Davies, Alltyblaca, Lampeter (1916-1974) containing vocabulary from Dyffryn Cerdin, Maesymeillion, Llandysul. These words were collected during the period 1939-1944 and the The Reverend Jacobs witnessed the use of all the words documented. Answer Books were sent out by the Welsh Folk Museum in 1958 to individuals across Wales as a way of collecting and documenting information on aspects of folk culture in their areas, including agriculture, crafts, food, customs and dialects. The responses were hand-written in the books. The Answer Books had a similar purpose to the earlier questionnaires sent out in 1937.
