Coffee cup and saucer, clear white translucency, lustrous glaze, the cup standing on a stepped foot, tub-shaped sides swelling to the lip, standard high kidney-shaped and scrolled handle; shallow saucer with flat unglazed base; the cup decorated with a gilt line to the foot, and the upper part decorated with a royal blue ground bearing gilt oeil de perdrix circles of dots, two rectangular reserves with curved ends, painted with garden flowers, gilt line at the lip, and band of seeded and scrolled on the interior, the base of the cup painted with an exotic pheasant in a landscape, handle ornamented with gilt husks; the saucer with a royal blue and gilt oeil de perdrix rim reserved with three rectanular panels of flowers, the centre painted with an exotic pheasant with a purple body and yellow and blue wings, another similar on a branch behind and a landscape beyond.
