Post-Medieval pottery fabric sample
A soft to hard fabric with a smooth to rough feel. In the core the fabric appears slightly streaky, mainly orange/pink with white clay streaks (5YR 6/6-7/8). In the break moderate Ironstone and white clay and sparse quartz can be seen under magnification. Surfaces show some signs of a transparant glossy glaze, but are generally a dull reddy/brown (5YR 4/6-3/4). Wheel-thrown.
