ss HYDROUSSA (2038gt) : Built 1922 as ss CAPITAINE COMMELIN by Chantiers Dyle et Bacalan, Bordeaux, (triple-expansion steam engine by Ateliers et Chantiers de la Loire, Nantes), for Soc. Anonyme de Navigation Les Armateurs Francais (managed by Union Industrielle et Maritime Societe Francaise). She was one of the “Marie-Louise” class ships built for the French Government for carrying coal etc., but were always prone to stability problems. 1934 – Sold to Panagiotis D. Christopoulos, Athens, and renamed HYDROUSSA. 1940 – Transferred to Andros Steamship Co. Ltd., Andros, Greece. 1948 – Sold to D.J. Goulandris, and renamed ANDRIOS. She sank west of Denmark on 26/27th February 1954 at 55.09N / 6.74E.
