Laid down as JEREMIAH L.CHAPLIN, but completed as SAMAKRON for "lease-lend" to the U.K., and managed by Royal Mail Lines. 1947 - She was laid up in James River, Virgina (part of the US reserve fleet?). 1959 - Scrapped at Baltimore
