Full title - Card of Prices of Best Blue Portmadoc Slates from the Rhiwbach Slate Quarry Owners.
Prices and particulars of slates of the Rhiwbach Slate Quarry, Blaenau Ffestiniog, dated 1907. The prices given are for machine dressed ‘blue genuine Festiniog district Portmadoc slate’ in various sizes (ranging from 26’’ x 16’’ to 10’’ x 6’’), and of various quality (‘best’, ‘medium’, ‘strong medium’, ‘second’, and ‘third/damp course’ quality slates). The price list is printed on brown card, is folded down the centre, and has a metal staple on spine. The donor’s family were timber merchants in Taunton, Somerset. They supplied timber and slate to local builders and merchants, and as a result acquired a collection of slate price lists.
