Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
A small flat and rectangular copper alloy plate object.
It could be the broken part of something like a buckle plate or a strap end from the medieval/post medieval.
One one end of the rectangular plate is a drilled hole and a right angled projection which has since become bent out of shape. The original surface has been lost but there is evidence of gilding in some parts.
It's dated as medieval/post medieval because, although gilding did occur on Roman metalwork, it's relatively uncommon on metalwork from the later Roman era.
