Winnowing machine
Winnowing sequestrated from Oakford, Ceredigion, 1889 and again on October 19 1893 in lieu of unpaid tithes. On the side of the machine is inscribed Attafaelwyd hwn am ddegwm yn Oakford Gorf 1af 1889 Eto Hyd 19/93. It was owned by Morgan Evans, a prominent leader of the ‘Tithe War’ in Cardigan. On the farm it was used to separate the grain from the chaff using a fan and series of sieves.
