Cup, tea and saucer
Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Teacup and saucer, clear white translucency, lustrous glaze, slightly discoloured on the underside of the saucer; the cup standing on a stepped foot, sides swelling to the lip, standard high kidney-shaped and scrolled handle; shallow saucer with flat unglazed base; the cup decorated with a gilt line to the foot, and painted with three bouquets of garden flowers, gilt line at the lip, deckelled on the interior, with band of gilt husks below, single pink rose painted at the bottom of the cup; the saucer painted with three similar bouquets of flowers around a central rose, deckel-edge gilt line at the rim.
