Watch case
Brass watch case, known as a ‘turnip’, used by Mr John Griffiths (1867-1952), a quarryman at Dorothea Quarry (Dyffryn Nantlle). Mr Roberts would tie the watch case around his waist so that he knew when it was blasting time at the quarry (chain is no longer attached to the watch case). Mr Roberts lived at ‘Gwynle’, County Road, Penygroes. The front of the case has a thick glass insert and unscrews.
