Built 1939 by Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Shipbuilding Co., Wallsend, for Hopemount Shipping Co., Newcastle. 1963 – Sold to Independent Steamship Co., Newcastle, and renamed BETHLEHEM. 1964 – Sold to Cia Nav. Pearl, Liberia. She collided with the tanker SHOWA MARU 30 miles from Singapore while en route from Tokyo to Aden on 2nd August 1969. The BETHLEHEM sank quickly with the loss of seven of her crew.
