Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Holborn Viaduct', showing an urban scene with horse-drawn traffic and walking figures on a street passing beneath a large bridge, large buildings line one side of the street, around the bottom of the scene is printed the inscription "HOLBORN VIADUCT", the print enclosed by a narrow circular dotted border. The glaze crazed, the flange slightly chipped.
