In two storeys; upper: St Egwin mitred, kneeling and presenting the abbey church to the Blessed Virgin seated crowned on a bench supporting the Child. To either side of the central spire of the church , dext. a sixfoil, sin. a small star or flag, beyond which an elaborate fleur-de-lis. In lower storey: three kings (Coenred and Ethelred of Mercia and Offa of the East Saxons) seated on a bench presenting a charter of privileges inscribed: DAMVS REGIE LIBER? TATI, to a kneeling bishop Egwin, his chaplain behind him. Above the charter, a fleur-de-lis; below, a seal pendant: the arms of ENGLAND.
