An punch for making oval holes in leather. At one end is the oval cutting head and at the other is the flat top of the shank, slightly compressed by being struck with a hammer. The punch is made from one piece of steel with a shank rectangular in section. The cutting head consists of a hollowing taper or tube with an oval cutting edge. The tube is also tapered internally so that the piece of leather punched out can escape at the top. GB 29/11/13
