Cast iron fireback fragment found at Furnace Farm, Ponthenry, Carmarthenshire, and so is likely associated with 17th century Ponthenry Furnace. Roughly square thick fragment of cast iron fireback comprising deeply corroded top right hand corner of a fireback, with decorative elements within a double border of parallel single thin raised bands. The surviving upper border motif is an arrow. The surviving side border motif is deeply corroded and difficult to identify but might possibly be an Irish harp incorporating a human figure.
