Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Dress consisting of bodice, skirt, overskirt and sash, 1854-55 or about 1870-73 (latter date suggested on label attached to dress). Made by Kezia Rebecca Parker, sister of Rev. Dr. Joseph Parker of the City Temple, and said to have been worn by her at her wedding in 1854 or 1855.
Black silk gauze ornamented with small green leaves in staggered rows, and trimmed with narrow green ribbon. The bodice, high necked, has front opening ornamented with bows. The sleeves bell out at wrists, each having a bow at outside of wrist. The skirt, full, and underskirt edged with ribbon. The sash has a black velvet band with large apron-like basque and bow at back.
