Vase, soft-paste porcelain, standing on a circular flanged pedestal foot, slightly indented and unglazed underneath, foot rising to a collar supporting the urn-shaped body which has a waisted neck and thick everted rim stepped at the top, a ram's head handle on each side; covered with a gold ground with on the front an oval reserve enamelled with a poor young woman in a red dress, blue shawl and a shoe on her right foot only, in a barren landscape with a lake, mountains and storm clouds above, on the reverse a rectangular reserve enamelled with garden flowers, three lines reserved in white round the neck, another enclosing the oval reserve, a further one on the underside of the collar round the stem.
