Cream and navy blue printed silk dress (leaf and flower print) with long tapered sleeves and a natural waistline. V-shaped neckline and pussy bow detail with cream pleated silk ends. There is a tie at the waist which is sewn to the front and loose at the back with extra length to form a bow. The sleeves have 28cm of frills on each shoulder and they are fitted at the wrist, fastening with two metal press-studs on each sleeve. On the inside there is a piece of white heavy silk gros-grain gathered into pleats and attached to the shoulder, presumably to add height and act as shoulder pads. There are also two press-studs near the tie at the waist but it is not clear what they are for. The inside elbows of each sleeve have been gathered and hand sewn with white thread. Construction by machine in navy cotton thread and some alteration made by hand in white cotton thread.
