National Eisteddfod of South Africa medal. Awarded to Thomas Parry, as conductor for a male voice choir in 1935. Thomas Parry was a miner at Cwm Colliery, but was blacklisted by the company after the 1926. He went to find work in South Africa where he drove a baker’s van. He came back to Wales in the late 1950s. Gold and enamel hallmarked medal with inscription on reverse. On green ribbon with safety pin clasp. In original box (2018.163.2).
