Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Hard red fabric with white slip & mottled yellow glaze (badly flaked below handles). 18 loop handles of equal size; sgraffito decoration of circles & zigzags. Lid is flanged to lift over bowl, with 9 rows of triple looped handles decorated with birds; surmounted by a flat circular platform with scars where 2 figures have broken off; on surface is sgraffito inscription. Astride the topmost loops of the 2 surviving handles are 2 figures facing inwards, representing spectators at a prize fight. Between the rows of handles are a fox, dogs & sheaves of corn.
