Embroidered Christmas postcard featuring the flags of the allied nations. Handwritten message on back: 'Wishing you a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year / Gordon'.
The postcard made from two pieces of card. One piece acts as the backing and has space for the message and address (written in French). The front piece is made from a slightly thicker card and forms a frame to hold the embroidery. It is embossed with an art nouveau inspired design. The embroidery is sewn onto fine silk gauze which is stuck to the underside of the frame around the edges. The embroidery features; the allied flags with two olive branches in red, blue, white, black yellow, white and green silk floss and the words ‘in Honour Bound’ in yellow floss.
