Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
A partially finished sampler made at Glansevern Hall, Welshpool, in 1839. It is worked in cross stitch using woollen threads on cream canvas ground fabric. The pattern consists of interwoven chevrons. The edges of the chevrons are stitched in black and grey and the embroidery is surrounded by a border consisting of two lines stitched in black. In between the embroidery, there is a stitched inscription reading 'Glan Severn 1839'.
