Bowl or vase, with cover and stand; Swansea 'trident' paste porcelain, yellowish translucency and slightly grainy surface, clear glaze; the straight-sided bowl wheel-thrown, standing on a stepped trumpet foot, the lower part applied with a calyx of radiating leaves and pierced with five holes, two ear-shaped handles with leaf thumbpieces rising from satyr mask terminals; shallow conical cover rising to a flat beaded top with pineapple finial, and pierced with ten oval holes; deep stand, standing on a foot rim, recessed base, straight flared sides and everted lip. The cover, bowl and stand each painted with a polychrome wreath of garden flowers, the foot of the bowl gilded, its top with a band of dark green enamel, handles, rims, and finial gilded, exterior of the stand ornamented with gilt anthemions between broad bands of gilding.
