ss. HELMSPEY (7281gt) : Built 1944 as SAMLORIAN by J.A.Jones Construction Co., Brunswick , Georgia (engine by Joshua Hendy Ironworks, Sunnyvale, California), for MoWT, managed by E.R. Management Co., Cardiff (part of the Evans & Reid Group). 1947 – Sold to Strath Steamship Co., and renamed HELMSPEY, managed by E.R. Management. 1949 – Sold to Clarissa Radcliffe Steamship Co., and renamed LLANOVER (2), managed by Evan Thomas, Radcliffe & Co., Cardiff. 1951 – Sold to Liberian Shipping Inc., Monrovia, and renamed CAPESTAR, managed by Triton Shipping Co., New York, under the Liberian flag 1960 – Renamed ATHLOS.
