Harvest jug, dark red earthenware, standing on a rounded spreading foot-rim, globular body sloping inwards at the shoulder, cylindrical neck with narrow pinched spout, grooved and ridged loop handle with rolled-up pellets at the upper and lower terminals; decorated with around the shoulder the inscription "M 1680 / T I 1680 T I M", incised between several notched bands and with incised scrolling lines separating the dates and initials, a notched band and several pronounced throwing rings to the neck, covered all over with a brilliant dark brown lead-manganese glaze which has worn off in places, the foot-rim chipped.
