M.V. INNISHOWEN HEAD (5294gt). Refrigerated cargo ship built 1941 as EMPIRE GLADE by Barclay, Curle & Co. Ltd., Glasgow, for MoWT (managed by Blue Star Line). She was shelled by U-67 in the North Atlantic on 28 November 1942 with the loss of one life. Repairs were carried out at Charleston, NY and G.Heyn & Sons Ltd were appointed managers in 1943. 1945 - Sold to Ulster Steamship Co. Ltd. (managed by G.Heyn & Son), Belfast, and renamed INISHOWEN HEAD. 1962 - Sold to Platsani Ltda. S.A., Greece and renamed MARIA N. 1972 - Sold to Yeni Dogu Ticaret Ltd., Turkey for scrap, and arrived for breaking up at Istanbul on 10 July.
