Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Feather-filled mattress covered in pale brown herringbone twill-woven cotton ticking fabric which has narrow white stripes which are edged in dark blue and grey.
It appears that the mattress was either made longer, or the full length had to be made up by using up smaller pieces of fabric: the last 27cm of one end have been constructed from 4 pieces of fabric which have been seamed together; this composite piece has been folded in half, to cover the edge. The sides of this extra section have been stitched together using whip stitch.
