Waistcoat

Waistcoat; front panels made from dark blue woollen fabric (woven with raised nap); rear panel made from brown cotton twill; lined with white cotton twill; three pockets (small & large on left, large on right) all lined with brown cotton twill; single-breasted with 5 gold-coloured buttons marked 'VCH'. Copper alloy buttons reinforced on reverse with black-painted steel rings. One spare button attached to inside of 2nd button from bottom. Two white cotton twill support patches on lining: strip along rear collar and triangular patch on bottom of proper right side seam. Fastened at centre back with belt (of same brown fabric as rear panel) and black-painted steel buckle (2 prongs). Buckle is held in place by belt being folded back onto itself and fastened with two metal grommets.
