Cup and saucer

Limbach Porcelain Factory

Cup, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, rounded curving sides, a slightly raised moulded basketwork border around the upper exterior sides, wishbone handle with slightly raised thumb-spur; to the front of the exterior body of the cup an oval panel painted in puce with a landscape with a seated figure by the side of a rock, the panel enclosed by a heavy green ribbon border tied at the top, the handle picked out in puce. Saucer, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, curving sides, a slightly raised moulded basketwork border around the interior sides; to the centre of the well an oval panel painted in puce with a landscape with the figures of two children or putti wrestling, the panel enclosed by a heavy green ribbon border tied at the top.
