Fan

Green paper fan with wooden sticks. Decoration of leaf appears to have been made by placing flowers onto the paper and then spraying over them, leaving a clear area where the flowers were. The colour is dark green on left fading into light green on right. Details of flowers were painted in afterwards using green paint. Guards and front of sticks were painted to (approximately) match the fading dark and light greens of the paper leaf. Bottom is helf together with an iron pin over a domed brass washer embossed with tiny circles. A suspension hoop of brass is attached. Outer guards and sticks are short, becoming longer towards the middle (so rather than a flat top edge, when folded, the upper edge of the fan has a zig-zag appearance with its highest point in the middle)

16 sticks and 2 guards
