ROY K. JOHNSON (7176gt) : Liberty ship built 1945 by Delta Shipbuilding Co., New Orleans (engine by Joshua Hendy Ironworks, Sunnyvale, California) for the US War Shipping Administration (managed by Calmar SS Corp., New York – managed by Alcoa SSC., New York, from 1946 ). 1948 – Laid up at Beaumont, Texas. 1951 – Sold to Cape Horn Steamship Corp. (US flag) and renamed SEAGALLANT. 1951 – Transferred to Oceanic Waterways Corp., managed by Orion Shipping & Trading Co., New York. 1953 – Sold to National Shipping & Trading Co., New York, and renamed ADMIRAL DEWEY. 1954 – Sold to Monteverde Cia. Armadora (Liberian flag – managed by Carolus S.A., Panama). 1960 – Sold to Transandina Cia. Nav., Panama (managed by Paul Hydreas, New York). 1962 – Renamed ARISTEA. (same owner). 1966 – Sold to Transworld Nav. Co. (managed by Welcome Ship Operating Co., New York). She was broken up at Taiwan in 1968.
