Monotype casting machine, photograph
Copy of a photograph of the casting side of a 'Monotype' machine. As the ribbon of perforated paper passes through the machine, compressed air, escaping through the holes, opeartes 'stop pins' which control the movement of the matrix-case as it slides to and fro and moves in the frame from side to side, bringing one matrix after another over the orifice of ht e mould. Mounted on card.
